The Litchfield Hills Greenprint project is a partnership of The Trust for Public Land and the Housatonic Valley Association. The program seeks to promote coordinated, long-term and locally driven conservation, to ensure that the ecological qualities of northwest Connecticut and the character of its communities endure for generations to come.
Together with local and regional partners, project participants and partners share a conservation vision that prioritizes the most significant and vulnerable open space resources for protection and will increase the pace and quality of conservation activity across the Litchfield Hills.
The Litchfield Hills Greenprint project uses TPL’s GIS Greenprint modeling framework to identify and map conservation priority areas across the landscape. The model identifies conservation opportunities that best meet the following goals:
